Hello - my first post:
I just picked up a 6s MTX and I'm wondering if I should put in tint in the rear and rear side windows, or if there is a good aftermarket window shade available which would fit the rear nicely. Ideally one that is permanently mounted and can be rolled down.
We live in CA (Sacramento area) and it is pretty warm in the summer
Thanks
Peter
i am not sure of the laws in your state, but you can find the local tinting laws and tint to that if you want to. Also ask around, the cops may not be rough on tint there. I had a car with illegal tint for a year in PA and never got a ticket

CA's law is that the rear and rear sides can be as dark as you like. The the front side windows however there is no tint allowed. On my other car (BMW 5 Wagon) I have dark tint in the back and a clear "VU protect" tint on the side. I don't know if it makes a difference with the fading, but it does bother me a little: If you have polarized shades you get a rainbow pattern looking through the clear side windows.
I don't think that it is enforced by cops here: I see a lot of cars with tinted front side windows. However one of a neighbors is a cop and he inidcated that this would give them a reason to pull you over and they could give you a "fix-it" ticket.
Thanks Peter

in FL im pretty sure they can't pull you over just for tint. It is a secondary offense that they can give you a ticket if they pulled you over for something else. ie. speeding, etc.
