Well, I guess the eternal thread on TB grounding was removed. Just adding an update on what I found out while testing...

The partial ground that the TB gets isn't from the connector. It's from the coolant. You can even duplicate this rather easily on the rubber air inlet hose. It will also show a partial ground when the rubber coolant line is still attached in it's little holder on the bottom of the inlet hose.

When grounding the TB, I measured the current flow through the ground and it was extremely small, if not non-existant (something like .03 milliamps).

My driving impressions seem to make me think that the throttle responded better but it could be I just got used to the throttle delay. When getting into another 4 banger with mtx, I could instantly feel the difference in throttle response. The Mazda throttle response is just plain slow not to mention it requires a rather large amount of pedal travel to get something to happen (I still think that is cuz of the flex in the pedal since it's made of plastic). Maybe I could lighten the spring tension in the pedal...hhmmmm?

Hey Thump,

http://forum.mazda6tech.com/viewtopic.php?t=248&start=0

The thread got moved around I think. We still can't decide where it should finally reside. We didn't delete it though, so all the fighting is still there for everyone to read.

Whats even more interesting is the Mazda 3s crowd (same engine as the 6i MTX) had the same discussion...

Here's their thread for continued reading...
