View Full Version : CP put the smackdown on my account

So by informing some 2nd gen protege members on CP about iMazda, my account got restricted . Made a comment about it in off topic but it got deleted within an hour.

So now that a lot of the moderators left are dave & ryan just hovering over the forums and eliminating any posts that ask questions or mentions iMazda?

And its not like I said anything all that bad. I basically just said members should check out iMazda. Some just post here, some stayed there, and some go to both. Then I said I wouldn't post at CP that much.

Maybe I was out of line? A simple PM would've done fine to let me know.

You were. You advertised for an opposing forum, drawing buisness and community members away. It was completely your fault that you got restricted. While I agree that iMazda is better in several ways, I have no need to invite people either way.

Oh well.

That's gaybar. There's no need for that.

I just love how people bash this place.

Ryan: "thats because that site has no content setup yet. unless they've stolen it from here."

What a bitch. Stolen? How is it stealing if it's MINE?

Hooches.

Two days after imazda started up, cp made a bunch of changes and now looks like imazda.

Is there a written rule stating that you cannot invite others to another forum?

Its not a matter or right or wrong, just a matter of deciding if you agree with the rules of that forum.

Is it really a competition though? They are just internet forums. If one is doing a good job at being a community, people will just go there. Maybe they are afraid that they will lose more members. What business is there to draw away?

There's protegeclub, msprotege, clubprotege, imazda, and some others I've never been to. I mainly come here and check out msprotege occasionally. I'm tired ... forgot where I was going with the last few sentences. Time to get some sleep.

It's thier forum, they can do whatever they want. If they thought he was wrong in posting iMazda, then they can restrict him or ban him, or anything they care to do. You can call them wrong all you want but if they want to run the forum that way, they have a right to.

Of course they are afraid they'll lose members. Without members, there's no community. No community = nothingness, no donations, no parts dealings, etc.

It's like going into a Mazda dealership and advertising for the Escape and Ranger - sure, they're the same basic thing and profit the same basic company, but less people buying the Tribute and B-series(I don't know how you can get less than 1 sale per 6 months at my dealership, haha!) means that those models would go away, hurting Mazda sales(unless they replace it with something like the CX-7) overall as people go to Ford for the same product.

I don't see what the big deal is. Loganss got restricted from a forum that he was drawing people away from.

afraid of losing people to rip off you mean? anyone who stays there or posts there is asking for trouble in the long run from dave

but I agree with what you said earlier though... "inviting" people there constitute spam just like any spam out there... it's lame

Well, rip off is a variable term. If you don't donate to it, or buy parts from Dave, your chances of getting ripped off are very slim. All you have to do is post there and add to the community. You don't have to donate or buy anything. Just like any other individually owned/operated endevour(not the car) there are risks to people who send money their way.

the only thing you're "adding" to his "community" is every knowledge and post become his, as he claims... and when you want to do ANYTHING to the content YOU posted that's rightfully YOURS, he'll threaten you with bullshit like lawsuits

posting ANYTHING there supports his regime, his policies, and tyranny

I saw it! And since there was no actual mention of this place, simply "another forum", it should be okay.

EDIT: I just clicked on the link to verify the quote and I no longer have permission to access it. I just read it 10 minutes ago. Nice. :D

If you give him your attention, you’re supporting him. Even if you just log on, your name is on the list of people at the bottom of the page. That my friend is your support. All the newbies that come along and see that think that they’re home, and they’re not. Forums with no users get no attention. How many people stayed at the Turbo magazine forum after the post about BP’s that we did. NOBODY! There is nobody at that forum so why stay.

I asked if I could post seller rep about someone on CP and was told to leave it alone. I think that is what we should all do. They have no community if nobody goes there. It’s obvious to me that they’re up to their same old tricks. They’ve learned nothing!

Proclamations of reformation without reconciliation are only words intended to deceive. More of the same.
The best revenge is successes:rolleyes:

Is he banning people so they can't take their work?

Fuck em, if anyone has anything they posted over there and want it copied just PM someone who isn't banninated. It's your work, they have no legal right to it.

There is a filter on the the term "imazda". So I just put a space between the "i" and the "m" and made the text as large as possible for my sig, location, and profile. :)

I wonder how long it takes for my new sig to get me banned.

2006-04-17, 11:14 PM
You can still copy it if your banned, you just can't edit or search. You have to be logged on to do that. When Marc got banned, he lost the ability to access all of his work over there I’m pretty sure.

Please ignore what I had written here. I'm getting pissed again and I don't want to start trouble for the good people that brought us iMazda.

Mazda96Protege, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I go from mod to being locked out of my user cp........this aggrivates me lol

Didn't realize how many other people got their account restricted. Guess it'll be a permanent thing then. Don't get why posting your resignation is reason for thread deletion either. Oh well.

What's up w/ the same color scheme across imazda, msprotege, and clubprotege?

Suzuka323

Well, I'm fairly new around both forums, but from what I've heard, CP is not the place to hangout anymore. I'm still lookin around over there for information, but I come here to actually talk to people.

Does anybody want me to copy anything over while I'm still a member? You guys are right by saying that any information placed on that forum, or any forum for that matter is for public use and can be copied and pasted where ever the hell you want to. They don't pay for that information and they don't copyright it, so it's ours for the taking.

I know it's against the "For Sale" rules, but when I put that paper in the pictures of my stuff, I don't put the website name in them because that gives them rights to the photos I'VE taken, so all they're gettin is my user name and date, that's enough to prove you have the item anyway. Same rules apply, but since they aren't pictures we're taking, the info is ours, where did the information come from in the first place, it was read or learned somewhere.

Let me know if there's anything you guys want, cause I'm sure he'll be reading these posts to see who needs to go.

Later.

That's not entirely true... anything that we actually wrote is ours to copy, since it's our own intellectual property. But we can't copy anything that someone else wrote without permission from them first. I think most of the real tutorials and serious information has already been copied over by the original author.
