Hah! n00b question regarding my 90 4WD Pro...

Ok, then. I thought that the clock just didn't work when I first got the car, but didn't worry about it.

today, I took the cluster cover off to get to the rear defog switch, as I've got no rear defog, and with the ice lately, it's a PITA.

come to find out, the clock itself had fallen back inside the dash, and lights up just fine!

question, though: Are there any actual buttons to set the clock under normal circumstances? There were no buttons anywhere, and just a bare trace on the PCB of the clock where it looks like the DATE/SET/RESET holes are marked on the dash.

What's the best way to set this? my 90 323 didn't even have a clock, so I've got nothing to compare to.

I took a couple photos, but I don't have a card reader or my camera's usb cable here at work right now.

it looks like your clock is broken... there's supposed to be buttons to the side of it for you to press to adjust it

go to the junk yard and find an LX to replace it lol

The setting buttons on my VW stopped working so I couldn't adjust the clock. I compromised by pulling the interior power fuse at 11:59, resetting the clock to 0:00 at the proper time of day. Disconnecting the battery could work too.

I did the same thing on my beater car... I never cared to figure out how to set the radio's clock

It's actually pretty easy. Consider the attached picture (800x600).

I used a penny, since that's all I could find in my car at the time, but each "pad" where the buttons normally go is in two halves. The bottom of the button has the conductive pad that connects the two halves, completing the circuit.

press and hold the TIME button (AD on the PCB, MODE on the PCB would be DATE on the dash label) and it will start advancing the numbers, gradually speeding up. the instructions are in the owners manual, which I actually have, lol. the RESET button is kinda cool. Say, if the time were 9:01 to 9:29, it would change the time to 9:00, but if it were 9:30 to 9:59, it would change the time to 10:00.
